The most potentially powerful outcome of Endow San Diego is the genesis of local charitable foundations across the region, growing under the banner, “Endow Your Community.” Each of these new foundations attracts members whose donations create an endowment as well as immediate grantmaking funds that serve their communities exclusively. Here is what we are focusing on now:

Grant making
After careful research and a community forum to learn more about Escondido’s issues and concern for its residents, the ECF membership chose Health as its 2008/2009 grant focus. More specifically, the membership will accept proposals that address the top issues associated with Healthy Lifestyle Choices. These include programs and activities that focus on creating and encouraging healthy lifestyle choices and address many diseases and health issues. The goal is to encourage Healthy Lifestyle Choices that will help Escondido become one of “America’s Healthiest Cities.”
