The most potentially powerful outcome of Endow San Diego is the genesis of local charitable foundations across the region, growing under the banner, “Endow Your Community.” Each of these new foundations attracts members whose donations create an endowment as well as immediate grantmaking funds that serve their communities exclusively. The Escondido Charitable Foundation is one of six Foundations and here is what we are focusing on now:

The Launch of a Legacy
In 2007, the members of the Escondido Charitable Foundation launched a legacy by creating the Escondido Charitable Foundation and its current membership structure. Through this membership, half of every contribution goes into immediate grant making and half goes into an endowment that will support Escondido causes forever. To become a member click here.
Now, in 2008 the ECF members are not only continuing to add new members, but are also focusing on building and sustaining their legacy with the creation of The Escondido Legacy Society – How Will you be Remembered? This Legacy Society encourages individuals and families to include Escondido in their estate plans through the Escondido Charitable Foundation.
When you establish your gift through the Escondido Charitable Foundation, you are creating a fund that benefits Escondido forever and becomes your personal legacy of giving. To learn more click here.
Grant Making
After a successful first year of grant making and growth, the Escondido Charitable Foundation is proud to enter its second year of grant making and to fund programs that address the top issues associated with Healthy Lifestyle Choices: these include programs and activities that focus on creating and encouraging healthy lifestyle choices and address many diseases and health issues.
The goal of the 2008-09 grant cycle is to encourage Healthy Lifestyle Choices that will help Escondido become one of “America’s Healthiest Cities.”
